Media General Broadcast Division Promotes Huey to Vice President and General Manager of WIAT-TV

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Media General's Broadcast Division has named J.D. Huey vice president and general manager of WIAT-TV, the company's CBS affiliate in Birmingham. He was previously the station's general sales manager.

"WIAT is at a stage of development that requires strong revenue generation, and J.D. has successfully led that effort during the past two years," said Bill Diaz, a vice president in Media General's Broadcast Division.

Huey came to WIAT from Fox Sports in Atlanta, where he also served as general sales manager. Before that, he worked his way up through sales management positions of progressive responsibility at KTXA-TV/Paramount Stations Group in Dallas.

"J.D. is a talented sales executive with more than 20 years of broadcast experience," Diaz said. "I am confident that in his new capacity as general manager, he will lead WIAT to the next level."
