Media General to Webcast Credit Suisse First Boston Media Week Presentation

Richmond, Va. – Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) will provide a live Webcast of its presentation at next week's Credit Suisse First Boston Media Week conference.

Media General's presentation will take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.

To access the Webcast, listeners may log on to www.mediageneral.com about 10 minutes prior to the start time.

J. Stewart Bryan, III, chairman and chief executive officer; Marshall N. Morton, vice chairman and chief financial officer; and Reid Ashe, president and chief operating officer will provide an overview of the company's strategy and outlook. Media General will issue a press release summarizing their remarks, which will also be posted to the investor relations section of the company's Web site.
